Why inspect first
Photos and descriptions are a starting point, but nothing replaces seeing an item in person. Inspection lets you confirm condition, spot missing parts, and bid with confidence.
Bring these
- A flashlight and your phone (for photos and notes)
- The lot numbers you’re interested in
- A tape measure, if space or fit matters
What to check
- Power it on where possible — does it run, cool, or heat?
- Refrigeration: listen to the compressor, check gaskets, look for ice buildup or rust.
- Cooking equipment: inspect burners, knobs, and interiors; check for cracks and heavy grease.
- Overall condition: dents, leaks, missing shelves, frayed cords, stability.
- Model and serial numbers: so you can look up specs and parts.
